About Palmietfontein Cottage
Holingsberg Palmietfontein Cottage is the ideal getaway for family and friends. Located close to Dullstroom yet completely secluded, it offers peace and privacy with a beautiful dam right on your doorstep.
Explore the farm on foot or by mountain bike, or visit the quaint nearby town of Dullstroom. In the evening, unwind in front of the fireplace with your favourite drink as you reflect on the day’s fishing and the beautiful scenery.
The Space
This charming stone cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nestled within a beautiful farm garden surrounded by age-old trees, it provides a peaceful countryside escape. The cottage is fully off-grid and powered by a 220V solar system. Guests are asked to be mindful of electricity usage, especially during cloudy or misty days. Under normal conditions, the system provides sufficient power.
Guest Access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the wide open spaces of the farm. You’re free to hike, fish, and cycle throughout the property.

The final 2 km of gravel road leading to the cottage is a little bumpy but was graded after the rainy season.

We had such a relaxing stay in Dullstroom this past weekend. The farm setting was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfect for switching off from the city. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a cozy weekend away. We especially loved the fresh air, scenic views, and quiet atmosphere. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place we’d visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil countryside escape.
A beautiful serene place with the most beautiful views! And little pond is perfect from fishing and the birds and animals around make this all the more magical.
The house has everything and has such a great layout. Bedrooms are quiet and cool even while the living room has a cozy fire and everyone is enjoying.
It is also a close drive to the quaint town of Dullstroom.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the farm.
Waking up early, sipping coffee while looking out over the fog covered pond just outside the house, waiting for the sun to rise was one of my favorite times. As the day woke up, the ducks and birds started chattering away until the monkeys moved across for the day.
And at night, after watching the amazing sunsets, the braai room or the fireplace were lit up to bring warmth as the cool night air crept in….
